Meals in St Blazey
All of our meals in St Blazey are prepared to a high standard, working to create inspiring and delicious meals for the children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Nutrition Guidance 2025. This guidance ensures children are receiving the correct nutrients, minerals and vitamins throughout the day, supporting a healthy and balanced diet during their early years.
Only the freshest produce is used and local ingredients are sourced where possible. Throughout the year, we celebrate traditional seasonal events with specially crafted menus and festive food experiences that the children look forward to.
All food is freshly cooked and centred around parent and child feedback. All food has a high nutritional value and meals are all balanced with a variety from day to day. We aim to help develop children’s healthy eating habits as well as giving them the opportunity to interact and socialise at meal times with other children and staff.
We offer Breakfast and lunch for our children as well as regular healthy snacks between meals. Water and milk is available throughout the day and is freely available. Children with special dietary requirements and needs are catered for readily and easily. We encourage children to explore new healthy foods and talk to the children about the meals as their feedback is super important to us as well as parents feedback. Menus are rotated every 2 weeks and changed twice a year.
As part of our food & Drink policy we support all types of weaning; Baby led, traditional and combination. When your child starts with us you will be guided through our weaning procedures and have a weaning form unique to your child to complete with their key person. These will then be regularly updated as you go through your weaning journey
