This year we took part in St Austell Torchlight Carnival! Some of our parents and children joined us for the walk through St Austell (dispite the rain!) for a great fun filled torch lit walk. Many thanks to all the parents and children who walked with us and waved us on in the crowd. We are looking forward to next year already!
Our Christmas Events have just been realised and we cannot wait to celebrate the festive cheer!
The nativity will be taking place at 10.30am and we welcome all family to come and watch with teas, coffees & mince pies on offer. All outfits are being made by staff, children and parents/guardians. The nativity will take place in the outside classroom so please ensure you dress your child in warm clothes for under their outfits and come suitablity dressed to stand outside for 15-20 minutes to watch the show. If you child is not booked to attend this day but would like to take part in the Nativity please let your room leader know and ensure they are at nursery for 10am to get dressed. Once you have confirmed if you would like your child to take place we will let you know the child’s role in the nativity including any line to practice and underlayers to be worn on the day.
For the Torchlight Carnival if you would like your child to take part please meet us at 5.30pm at John Keay House and we will provide a colourful high visablity vest for the children, lantern and santa hat. Please bare in mind the carnival is quite long so therefore please bring a push chair if needed or feel free to leave part way through should it be too far for your child to walk. Children must be accompanied by a parent for this event.
We look forward to celebrating this with you.
On Monday the 17th October our Preschool children visited the St Austell Community Kitchen (STAK) and delivered all of the wonderful donations of dried and tinned foods our parents have donated. The children learnt about all the good the STAK Kitchen does for people of St Austell and enjoyed handing over their donations. The STAK kitchen would like to express their thanks to all of our parents who donated and the special visit from our children.
Child Element Consultation – Universal Credit and Child Tax Credit
Please see below information on new elements of the Child Tax Credit scheme due to come in force April 2017. You can let them know your thoughts by clicking on ‘consulation’ and completing a review of the proposed changes.
‘The child element in Universal Credit and the individual element in Child Tax Credit will be payable to a maximum of 2 children from April 2017 (Welfare Reform and Work Act 2016).
DWP and HMRC have launched a joint consultation on the exceptions to these reforms. The consultation seeks evidence and views to inform the detailed design of the 4 exceptions that have been announced, and their implementation. It is not a consultation on the policy itself.
Please bring this to the attention of interested partners and encourage them to participate. The consultation will close on the 27 November 2016.’
